I have this weird clock inside my head that wakes me up. It’s annoying sometimes, especially on those days when, the evening before, you say to yourself, “I’m going to have a lazy lie in tomorrow morning.”
It almost never happens.
I’ve given up on the idea these days and just roll with it. A black coffee later and I’m generally writing, as that’s my time of day. It’s simply how it is. However, when you’re travelling, there’s a different view outside and the light is also different.
So this was taken early in the morning in the countryside of Northern France. The EXIF Camera data of the Sony A6300 says that this was shot a 05:45 in the morning.
Normally, I would still be taking the second or third sip of coffee at that point.
However, the light was simply stunning, the previous night a thunderstorm had swept the sky clean and there was a crispness in the air. Combine that with the early morning mist, the rainwater hanging from the crop leaves and the last of the storm clouds receding and this was the result.
The heavy dew on the grass soaked my shoes and I didn’t care.
In fact, I quite enjoyed it.
